Founder and managing director of Reliant Consulting Services UK Ltd (RCS) – Roy Ferris has a long association with the security industry. After the successful sale of his own security business, Bastille Security, he went on to form Roster Control Systems Ltd which, during the 1990’s, became one of the leading world-wide suppliers of scheduling & time management systems [RotaWin] to security organizations across the UK, Republic of Ireland, Canada and the USA.
In 2004, he formed RCS UK Ltd to deliver quality consulting services to the security industry. Teaming up with Jason Steele – a former Roster Control Systems employee and developer of the RotaWin product – to deliver quality solutions to a variety of organizations across many industries.
An IT Professional with over ten year’s experience of the full project life cycle of developing and executing mission critical software and is as adept at hands-on code development as the management of development teams. His specific strengths are enterprise application design using Microsoft products and ensuring that software development adheres to the design through code reviews and the mentoring of junior developers. He was employed at Roster Control Systems Ltd as Development Manager and Team Leader he was responsible for the development of the highly successful RotaWin scheduling and Time Management system. He was also responsible for the design and development of an internal system for tracking support issues. Over the past 2 years he has developing solutions using Microsoft’s .Net technology to deliver feature rich web enabled products. Both his past product and IT experience have been used to good effect to produce excellent products.
Employed by Group 4 Total Security Limited for the past 23 years, he has held key positions in the organization that include Project Manager – Business Systems, Communications Centre Manager, Project Co-ordinator, and Help Desk Manager. He has been responsible for the management of the development and implementation of a replacement scheduling and time management application which replaces the in-house bespoke Customer Database and Rostering Systems which provides manpower resource allocation against contractual requirement, absence management, customer invoicing and gross pay calculation of hours worked for transfer to the payroll system. In this capacity he has been responsible for the preparation of the requirement specifications, management of the staff allocated to the project both full time and part time, management of the supplier to ensure proper understanding and timely delivery, establishing project time-scales and ensuring that they are met, organized meetings and giving presentations relating to the project, to raise and maintain the level of awareness for customers both internal and external, and full Integration of the software outputs in to the financial and payroll applications. It is also extremely relevant that he was directly involved in the deployment and management of the Roster Control Systems software at Group 4 between 1994 to the present day.
Mark Richardson, B.Eng. (Hons), MSc, Fellow In Management (Cranfield):
Mark is a project and programme management specialist with over 20 years’ experience of management, consultancy, organizational and personal development in technical project and programme management. He has in-depth knowledge and experience of project management methods, processes and external national standards. Over the last 12 years he has delivered a wide range of project and programme management consultancy assignments for clients in IT, IT services, software development and the public sector. He has led a number of assignments to embed current best practice in project management into client organizations, and is a specialist in ability assessment and development for professional project staff. He has a B.Eng. honours degree ( Bradford ), an MSc. in Information Systems ( Kingston ), and is a Fellow In Management at Cranfield University . He is a Member of the Association for Project Managers, a Registered PRINCE2 Practitioner, an Information Systems Examination Board (ISEB) Certificated project manager, and a member of the British Computer Society.

Barry Gaskin has experience as a Company Accountant over many years

Roy is a registered Sage developer with over 10 years experience of developing bespoke solutions for companies using the Sage range of products. He has been working in the I.T. industry for over 30 years being initially trained in system analysis and programming by I.B.M. His wide experience ranges from manufacturing companies to Distribution and Warehousing services to companies working in the Leisure Industry. He also specialises in linking the Microsoft Office range of products to the various Sage products providing the ability to use Office either as a 'front-end' to Sage systems or as a means of obtaining more detailed management information from the products. He has also developed bespoke solutions, linked to Sage, using technology such as bar-coding and .Net. He is a member of the Institution of Analysts and Programmers.
Our staff based in the USA have excellent skills and experience that is utilized for our business in both the UK and North America, and therefore have rcs Group responsibilities.
Andrew Barnes:
Andrew has been involved with Roster Control Systems since 1994 when he joined the company as an Analyst Programmer. When Roster Control Systems became successful in North America, he took on the technical support role for the US and Canada and subsequently became the Support Manager for the US.
In addition to representing RCS UK in the US, Andrew is Vice President and CTO for Solvit Software Inc. He holds a BSc in Computer Science and is a member of the British Computer Society and a Chartered Software Engineer.
